batam!

back from my short short trip.... from Batam!

The trip was ok... 2 continous days of massage.. can u beat that? haha.. but seriously speaking, im not 1 who enjoy massage so much... in fact.. it was quite painful to me... but i guess the pain is healthy? hehee

We stayed @ Holidays Inn resort... which is damn damn far from any happening place...
hence mostly we have to travel by cabs.. and i tell u.. the cabby there are suckers! They suck your Money! Or i should say.. they suck Singaporean money. IMagine, the living standard is sooo low there.. yet a cab trip can easily cost S$10! I think $4 is more appropriate. Nevertheless, we relied on cabby to travel around.
1st, we went to Nagoya town... its supposed to be 1 of the happening places.. as in.. there r shoppin malls there... but quite sucky lah... clothes.. cant buy.. bags..cant buy...
u wunt wanna be spotted with them in Singapore, i assure u

But we have our A & W.... how long has it been since Singaporean eat A & W? well.. i dunt even remember my last time... maybe in primary schools? 20 years ago?
Then we ventured out of the shopping mall, in search of IndoThai Massage... walked around... and cant find it at all.... worse thing is.. i have conveniently forgotten to bring out the address!
But lucky i remeber its somewhere beside "penuin centre" Lucky... i remember this.. coz i kept thinking.. why dont they juz name it penguin centre? more interesting name! hahaha

Anyway, we have to take cab there again! Its not for walking by foot.. the short 10 minuteish trip cost abt S$4!
We went for aromatheraphy massage +Scrub which lasted 3 hours... total cost abt S$45... which is comparatively cheap. We had misunderstood the guy saying the package cost $24... which will be damn cheap.... the massuer i got... was very strong.... really press and knead me sooo hard that i have gotten 3 blue black on my leg... im not kidding! i didnt stop her coz i tot the painer... the better the effect... hahaha but it was pretty good.. she scrubbed my body totally... that it can glow! Then she gave me the twist neck thingy... she asked me to relax... and my mind was thinking... is she going to crack me? oh no!
im really afriad of breaking my neck man.. but there she goes... crack!!!
aw man! lucky... my neck was still intact... what an experience!
this was the 2nd time i do a massage.... and the idea of presenting my bare naked body has sunked into me... that im no longer shy...

then we went for a seafood dinner at this ugly run down place which is behind the massage place... cats were loitering around.. i cant eat in peace with cats around... but i forced myself... til to the extent that they stopped beside me and looked at me... that i lost my appetite..
ANyway, we ordered chilli crabs, steamed grouper, hotplate tofu and soup... and all these cost S$36 for 2 of us... quite cheap! my fave was the steamed grouper.. that was nice! chilli crab was ok... the crab abit small.

then we proceed back to our hotel.. it was already 9+ their time( they are 1 hr behind us)
parts of the road was pitch dark... we passed by those slums... which look so ugly, unbearable, run down.. i really cant imagine myself to be living in such conditions... after these sights.. im always very happy that i lived in Singapore... where everything is so near and organised...
and if i were to live there, i would die! There is no shopping to be enjoyed... and i think the most expensive cosmetic brand they have their is... loreal?? even got counter for loreal and maybelline.. can u believe this?

Forget to mention this... my hotel room is a suite!!! Suite leh!! but then... its really nothing impressive... its juz like a normal room.. where the sofa is divided from bedroom.. 1 thing i dont like is... the tv is in the living room.. not in front of the bed! i cant fall asleep on bed while watching tv!

2nd day.... went to megamall.. which is unfortunately the most interesting place... for us to shop....
we went for our 2nd massage.. @ Tiara mustika.. which i read was like 10 min away from megamall.. so i tot... lets go!
Who knows... we actually have to travel by cab there.. which took 10 min.. sigh....
whatever, got a cab.. and this bloody cab driver..... he did not know the place.. n brought us round and round... at 1st at the taxi counter.. the rate stated was 35,000 rp.. which is abt... $7? bloody hell rite? 10 min ride cost S$7! Suckers!!!
he tried to call his friends to ask where is the place. but his lousy friends dont know... then finally, he saw the tel number on my paper and decided to call them for directions...
i was thinking.. sigh.. dun blame him lah... hes doing all that he can.. what a good guy he is!

when we finally reach the place and alight... he said it will cost 50,000 rp.. and he was signalling with his hand that he went round and round.. and he made calls.. thats why 50,000...loody hell this stupid prick!!! my travelmate wanna argue with him that it was him who dont know the place.. shouldnt penalise us...
seeing that he dont really understand english and all... its juz a waste of time arguing with him... so i said... give him and ask him to fuck off.
i was thinking.. if only my ali was there.. he would have f the guy upside down.. and maybe ended up giving him only 1,000 rp (20 sing cent.. whahahaa)

the massage place was good.. at least this massuer use the appropriate strength... and nice atmosphere... we only have 1 hour to spend.. hence we went for the 1 hr massage.. else we can take the whole package of suana and scrub.. how wonderful!

then we went back to megamall for the last leg of shopping (or is it the 1st leg actually)
went hypermart and grab some mandi lulur body scrub... and the max they cost was like S$2 for 1 tub.. my body gonna glow man! hehehe
and some keropoks... and of coz... donuts!!!!
but shit happens... migraine struck me again... was feeling terrible... damn terrible... was so nauseous.. and the bumpy road agrivate it all.. went back hotel and puked...
felt much better.. but the head still ache... was huggin my head throughout the ferry..

verdict.. go for the cheap massage... and hypermart.... and to remind yourself of the poverty of other countries...
