Farewell National Stadium

It was goodbye national stadium on 30 Jun 2007...
it has been around for 30? 35 years? i hate to see it go.. really....

my love with national stadium , i still remember vividly was the Malaysia Cup days... when i was in secondary school... that was the time soccer was sooo hot, and every1 deck in red top to support the Lions... with the likes of Fandi Ahmad, Lim Tong Hai, Lee Mun Hong, Nazri Nasir, Malek Awab, Sundram, etc etc... i was such a big fan then... always in stadium cheering the lions and jeering the opponents and referees... i missed those days...

So i decided, i have to be there yesterday.. despite my desire to laze at home...
went there with a colleague and my dad! I knew my dad would love to be there, hence i invited him along!

1st was the match between the Singapore ex internationals vs Malaysia ex internationals.. all uncles running, or should i say.. jogging around...
the score was 1-1...

then they lighted up the caudrol(or however u spell it) by this old athelete... magnificant.... it was the very last time that it is being lighted.

then the match between SG and AUS... Aus beat SG by 3-0... sigh.... why didnt they give us some face and let us score some goals? let me have something to cheer mah....but to be fair... SG put on a good fight... 2 hit the poles... lady luck was not on our side.. if not, we would have scored!
but i had fun cheering and jeering... "refereee kayu!! bodo! goal goal goal!! " and of coz... the kallang wave...

then later... mark and brian richmond came to gave some talks.. i love this segment... they walked on the field and introduced some memorable spots where magic was performed... like sundram famous bicycle kick. it was really nice....
at that point of time, i feel like stopping them from closing the stadium down.... (as if i can lah.... hehee)

then.. they light off the caudrol, and fireworks in the sky! i just love fireworks... waiting for national day to see them again...

I am so glad that i was there to witness all these.... goodbye national stadium, u will always be in my heart!
